Can you guess the iconic actor who went from living in a rundown New York “flophouse” for just $150 a month to owning a peaceful farm with his family?

This actor’s humble beginnings are far from his current life surrounded by farm animals and home-grown veggies. Growing up, he dreamed of becoming an actor and would dress up as movie characters after trips to the theater.

In 1976, he moved to New York City to pursue his dream, crashing on his sister’s couch before finding an affordable room in a budget “artist’s residence” through an ad in the Village Voice. His roommate, a classical pianist, shared the space for four years, filling the apartment with calming piano music at night.

While in New York, the actor performed at the Circle in the Square Theater School, driven by a passion for art and creative expression.
