Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Lamar, is dead as confirmed by his family and the Fulton County Morgue.
His sudden death, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, has left his loved ones devastated, and while no cause of death has been disclosed, the family is seeking answers.
Quan first made waves in the music scene in 2013 with his breakout hit “Type of Way,” which his fans love vibing to. He continued his rise to fame with tracks like “Fly Rich,” “Tel Em,” and “Ride Out.”
Quan also collaborated with fellow Atlanta artists Young Thug, Jacquees, and 2 Chainz. Together with Young Thug, he was part of the Cash Money Records project “Rich Gang.”

The hip-hop community and fans have begun to express their condolences, mourning the loss of the talented rapper who made a significant impact on the music industry.
One heartbroken fan shared, “This wasn’t supposed to be true 🥺,” while another in mourning expressed, “Ugh 😢 crazy. Rest in heaven 🕊️🙏🏾.” A fan also stated sadly, “So heartbreaking.” These comments reflect the widespread sorrow felt by fans as tributes pour in across social media platforms.

His demise hit his fans by surprise as just three days ago, on September 3, 2024, he made an Instagram post, captioned, “Vision clear even through the BS 🤫.” This marked Quan’s last social media post before his death.
The rapper has now left behind his longtime girlfriend, Amber Williams. The two were raising their two sons together, Royal Lamar and Layor Leonis Lamar.
In 2016, Williams publicly shared a heartfelt birthday message for Quan, praising him as an amazing father and expressing admiration for his continued success.
She acknowledged their ups and downs, “It’s been quite a roller coaster but we’ve learned to get over the hills, twist, & turns as ONE! Love you babe ❤️ @richhomiequan.”
Four years later, in 2020, the pair announced that they were expecting their second child. They shared a special moment from their gender reveal party, which showcased that their secondborn would be a boy.
In the photo, Quan stood beside Williams, who held their eldest son close as they celebrated the upcoming addition to their family.
