According to an exclusive source who spoke to PEOPLE, Miley Cyrus had no knowledge of the alleged “drama” surrounding her mother Tish Cyrus, sister Noah Cyrus, and her mother’s new husband, Dominic Purcell.
The 31-year-old singer of “Flowers” was completely unaware of the situation. When she found out, she confronted her mom. Despite thinking it’s a strange situation, Miley loves her mom and wants her to be happy.
Noah Cyrus, the younger sister, was reportedly offended by her mom’s friendship with Prison Break star Dominic Purcell. According to a source, before Tish and Purcell started their own relationship, Noah and Purcell had been involved in a friends-with-benefits arrangement.
“Noah and Dominic were seeing each other casually, on and off. Then Tish started something up,” the source said. “Tish knew he had been seeing Noah.”
Unfortunately, Tish did not give Noah the opportunity to discuss the situation before getting married to Purcell. The insider added that Noah did not attend the wedding ceremony, which took place in Miley’s backyard.
After over 28 years of marriage, Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from Tish in April 2022. Tish and Purcell tied the knot more than a year later. Together, they are parents to sons Trace and Braison, and daughters Brandi, Miley, and Noah. Billy Ray also has a 32-year-old son named Christopher Cody from a previous relationship.
While the divorce was considered “long overdue,” it was still not easy for any of the kids involved, as revealed by an insider to PEOPLE.
