Prince William Just Fired Camilla’s Family Member

Lately, the royal family has been making headlines a lot. With health issues and family disputes happening, there’s been a lot to discuss.

Lately, the royal family has been in the news for a different reason. Prince William decided to take Queen Camilla’s sister, Annabelle Elliott, off the payroll. She has been the interior designer for the estate since 2005, working under King Charles’ guidance.

William has begun to take charge of the estate, and things are starting to change. One big change is that 75-year-old Elliott has been let go. This is a major shift because the records indicate she didn’t receive any pay in 2023 or 2024, marking the end of her twenty years of work.

A statement says that from now until September 8, 2022, the Duchy paid Mrs. Annabel Elliot, who is the sister-in-law of the 24th Duke of Cornwall, a total of £19,625 (which is about $25,091.25) for her fees and commissions. They also paid her £12,316 ($15,746.44) to buy furniture, decorations, and retail items for the Duchy of Cornwall’s holiday rentals, offices, and nursery. As of March 31, 2024, there was nothing left to pay Mrs. Elliot for these expenses.

The Duchy is a private estate that looks after both personal and some official events for the Duke of Cornwall and his family. It was created in 1337 and is run according to certain rules and charters.

Prince William is the Duke of Cornwall right now, and while he helps take care of the estate, he can’t actually use the money from it. He also has to pay income tax on the money the estate makes each year.

Since Prince William decided to take Annabelle off the payroll, it looks like everyone has strong feelings about it. Some people are glad he did it, while others didn’t even know she was getting paid at all.
